Results

The visual results of laser surgery for myopia are similar between the Lasik excimer laser and the surface (PRK) for low myopia less than or equal to 3 diopters.

• LASIK is a superior technique to the operation by laser surface (PRK) to correct the most important degrees of myopia (up to 12-13 diopters with a recent laser provided the corneal thickness is sufficient). Lasik is the best technique to correct hyperopia (up to 6 diopters), presbyopia and astigmatism (up to 5 diopters).
